Zürich Flughafen

Originally posted on my blog to illustrate/challenge the current atmosphere surrounding photography in public places, but I rather like it in it's own right so I thought I'd post it here as well .

Airports are great places for photography. Interesting architecture, great light, people in all conditions from relaxation and boredom to stress, panic and bewilderment. This was shot with a Rolleiflex 2.8 TLR which  has the benefits of stealth and the ability to get a low angle without putting yourself into a position that invites ridicule. Of course you can do this with a flappy digital thingy but it wouldn't be the same, would it?

That's why I choose the nice "flappy" Olympus C7070wz....you can't sneek through that easilly, Richard.

(I Gather that some prominent person who has a photography hobby has just been "stopped" doing night photos in London. Who are these morons in the Police? Reason: Terrorism)

sometimes you can feel so small...
I agree about this new-found zeal that the police/ security fraternity have for stopping photography in public: it's ludicrous, unfounded, & smacks of a measure from an insecure Fascist regime...er, that would be th U.K. then!! smile
